"Big Light Ratio" Describes Storytelling

The visual convention of the film sense picture is that a frame of picture can run through the story and theme before and after.

It is suggested that you go to see American Westerns and some black movies, such as Lost Lover, which typically use the "Big Light Ratio" on visual symbols.

The hardness and softness of the lamp are basically the same as that of the noon sun (of course, the level of the sun is not comparable to that of the lamp), so we just need to put a 4K film lamp outside the window (which requires a set in the shed or a room on the first floor).

4K refers to dysprosium lamp, because the color temperature around 5800 is close to the sun, and the average color temperature of sunlight at noon is 5500 K.

Especially the lamp is painted because we shoot directly with the scene light, any light in the scene will have a great impact on the picture, so it is better to turn on the lamp.

What about the lights on the faces of the characters?

"Depth of Field" Enhances Narrative Fluency

Simply put, "depth of field" can create a virtual reality to match the composition, guide the focus, create a sense of space to highlight the information that the viewer wants to see.

As shown above, shallow depth of field is used to blur the background, including cigarettes. That is to say, don't look at anything else! ____________ Look only at the subject.

"Hierarchical Sense" Creates Senior Sense

"Big light ratio" at the same time, the sense of film screen also needs rich visual levels to create a high-level sense, it can show the depth of space. For example, contrast between light and shade, especially the gradual transition from shade to light.

Although we need black to tell stories, we also have to avoid the dark part of the picture or the overall high brightness; otherwise, the picture will appear to lack levels and details, making people feel very advanced.

"Granular Sense" of Simulated Film

Particle sensation is the common product of the chemical reaction of printing and printing with the unique silver salt sensitization of the film.

To put it more elegantly, it is equivalent to visual breathing. Sometimes people's eyes can not reach that high-definition, so special high-definition pictures lose their true feelings.

But when we simulate the "granular feeling", we should pay attention to that it is not evenly distributed in the picture, the dark particles are often thicker, and the bright part is usually slightly finer. The specific methods are as follows:

Create a new "layer" above the screen and select the mode "soft light" and "fill soft neutral color". Add more noise to the new layer.

In this way, the color varies with the tone of the film, and it is also convenient for us to erase some highlights manually.

"Tone Tendency" for Score

Every photographer has his own unique tone and tonal preferences, and stylized color has become part of the story.

Tones are contained in shadows and light; if light ratio, level, etc. Every aspect has been well controlled, so you just need to add a little color tendency according to aesthetic accomplishment, and then use color contrast to increase the sense of space in the picture.
